Director, Civil Engineering

Hybrid Schedule: Monday - Wednesday in office, Thursday & Friday remote. Stewart also offers a M-F 4/9 Schedule with days on Friday.

Position Description

The Director, Civil Engineering Practice, you will lead a group of Triangle-focused engineers. In this exciting opportunity for a senior Civil Engineer, you will manage, mentor, and motivate a team, helping engineers thrive in their careers. You will have an opportunity to expand your portfolio by working on exciting, high-profile, and complex projects. In addition to working on a variety of projects, you will partner with the Practice Leader to develop strategies for technical excellence, engagement, and growth. The Civil Engineering practice is focused on Site/Civil Land Development Engineering projects in a variety of sectors: Mixed-Use, Healthcare, Higher Ed, Residential and more. Our work includes grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, storm-water, site planning, and permitting for development projects across NC.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 12 years Civil Engineering experience, with advanced experience in Land Development and Civil Engineering principles and methods, required.
  • Minimum 5 years leading teams with a focus on mentoring Jr. team members.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
